a tickle therapy session

What does a Tickle Therapy session involve?

A Tickle Therapy session involves two main components; a setup position and a session length.

Restraints are generally used in a Tickle Therapy session, for the following reasons:

  • Restraints help in removing the distraction of your body's natural fight or flight response to tickling. This allows for you to focus on letting the feeling of the tickling 'wash over' you, without the distraction of movement.
  • Tickle therapist safety - tickling can be chaotic! Restraints allow for better safety for both the practitioner and client.

Session lengths vary person to person, and will be discussed to best suit your needs prior to booking in a tickle therapy session. As a guide, they generally range from 30 to 90 minutes.

DIfferent people are ticklish in different areas of their body, and the exact nature of where will be tickled will be pre-organised when booking in a session. Sessions are often tailored to an upperbody or feet focus.

The idea during a Tickle Therapy session is to let go! The therapist will adjust the intensity of the tickling throughout the session. Laugh and let the feeling of the tickling take over and melt your stress away.
